Reliance Jio silently rolls out Jio Fiber FTTH service in Mumbai; Offers three months free data

Reliance Jio completely dominated the telecom industry news with the free offerings, low-cost LYF phones. Now, the much-awaited news has come from Jio Fiber also called as Fiber To The Home (FTTH) service. In September, during the launch of Reliance Jio, Mukesh Ambani hinted about Jio Fiber service and told that it would be disruptive one.

Now, Reliance Jio silently rolled out Jio fiber in some places of Mumbai. There are some buildings in Walkeshwar Road and Nepeansea Road of Mumbai where users can subscribe to the Jio Fiber as reported by India Today. Jio Fiber comes with three months unlimited data offering. Jio Fiber claims that the maximum download speed to be 1 Gbps. The people using the Jio Fiber are claiming the speed between 70-100 Mbps.

As this is not an official information from Reliance Jio, there is no clarity on areas in Mumbai served with Jio Fiber. Walkeshwar Road and Nepeansea Road are not only the areas with Jio Fiber, there are many areas accessible to Jio Fiber

As noted, Jio Fiber comes with three months unlimited offer. One has to pay Rs 4,500 as installation charge for the modem.

Reliance Jio is not the first company to offer FTTH for the first time. ACT broadband, Airtel with V-Fiber offers similar service

Airtel V-Fiber recently launched the service in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru to offer 100 Mbps data speed and three months of free data for the users.
