This Smartphone from Japan Called Kyocera Rafre can be Washed with the Soap

Kyocera has introduced a new washable smartphone dubbed Kyocera Rafre which you can wash it with a foam or soap just like you do for a utensil to keep it clean. However, it is exclusive to Japan and will not be available outside Japan. This smartphone was introduced for KDDI, a Japanese telecommunications operator so that is the reason why the phone is exclusive to Japan.

Kyocera Rafre was the successor to the first washable phone introduced way back in 2015. The phone is also resistant to hot water and can be handled with gloves or wet hands.It also comes pre-installed cooking app and the company is advertising its cooking abilities as well. So anytime phone becomes dirty when you are cooking you may clean it with water. The Smartphone also employs Kyocera smart sonic receiver technology where it uses vibrations to send sound to the eardrum using device display.

Specs and Features of Kyocera Smartphone:

  • The phone will be available in three color variants -; Light Blue, Clear White or Pale Pink color variants and features 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display
  • The phone is powered by 2GB RAM and has 16 GB of expandable internal storage
  • It has MIL-STD-810G, IPX5, IPX8 and IP5X ratings that indicate that the phone is water, dust and shock resistant.
  • On camera front, Kyocera Rafre sports 13MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera
  • The phone measures 142 x 71 x 10.4mm and weighs 158 grams
  • Kyocera Rafre  runs on Android 7.0 Nougat that is pre-installed and comes with 3000mAh battery

However, the company did not reveal the price of the phone.
