Reliance Jio is planning to launch the Rs 500 VoLTE feature phone on Jul 21 along with new aggressive tariff plans

Reliance Jio seems to be again in a pace to disrupt the telecom sector with another huge offering that is expected to be announced at Annual Group Meeting (AGM) on July 21st. According to the new report, Reliance Jio is launching a 4G VoLTE feature phone for Rs 500 aiming to lure the exiting 2G subscribers of other networks to immediately switch to Reliance Jio.

Reliance Jio had recently appointed the brokerage firm HSBC to design the pricing plans for Reliance Jio. HSBC has put the price point of the VoLTE feature phone at low as much as Rs 500 that translates to $8.

Along with the feature phone, Jio is also likely to announce new tariff plans that would further disrupt the market. After the announcement of Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, Reliance Jio have grabbed a huge user base but in the recent times, Jio witnessed a drop in the new subscriber addition and it has now become a mandate for Reliance Jio to launch succeeding offer.

Reliance Jio had already placed the order for 4G phones from China based ODMs for around 18-20 million of the 4G VoLTE feature phones. These ODMs include Zhejiang Techain Electronics Technology Co., Shenzhen CHINO-E Communication Co, Crave and Megaphone.

People close to the happenings says that the shipments of these phone would arrive by July end and the phones will reach the market by August 15.
