Flipkart resumes Cash on Delivery (COD) service

Good news for all online shoppers. E-commerce giant  Flipkart resumed the cash on delivery option(COD) for its payments.

The Government of India made a surprise announcement for demonetization of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes from November 8. There was a drastic decline in COD orders and many many of them canceled their orders. Many people are seen in long queues at Banks, ATMs and Post offices for the exchange of old notes.

Post demonetization Flipkart and Amazon have stopped COD services with effective from November 9. This did not help their cause as e-commerce saw a decline in the COD orders by as much as 30%.In a bid to maintain its customer base and market value, Flipkart resumed the cash on delivery  (COD) service up to any amount.

However, the company made it clear that it won't accept banned notes. Flipkart in an official statement said that post demonetization they took every possible step to ensure smooth and hassle free shopping experience. They even reached out to their customers to educate them and gave additional time to procure cash for their COD orders.

On the other hand, demonetization has a positive impact on wallet companies like Paytm ,Mobikwik , and free charge and they witnessed a tremendous surge in their traffic base and transactions. The company is expecting that the latest move will boost its business.[left-sidebar]
