A whopping 130 employees of IBM receive Rs.1 Crore plus CTC despite declining global business

A whopping 130 employees of IBM are receiving 1crore plus salary annually during FY17 in India. India is an important business for IBM after US. The company has its analytics center in Bengaluru. Indian business of IBM outperformed other markets and is called out for its performance by its CFO Martin Schroeter during June and October quarters.

IBM India revenue rose by 10.3 % to make $3,43 billion turnover in Fy16 due to robust performance in IT exports in domestic and international market.

Inspite of the performance the company showed, the 133 employees out of 1.3 lakh employees received a good compensation of  Rs1Crore and above. This figure is very much higher than the India's top IT services company Infosys which has only 49 executives who receive Rs 1Crore compensation.

India's robust performance has got a lot of attention because IBM's Asia-Pacific business has declined due to the affected Japan business and weaker performance in China.

IBM India has four business segments/subsidiaries. Bigfix software, Telelogic India, Unica softtech systems India and IBM Business consulting services.

The irony here is IBM globally is seeing decline in revenue since 18 months inspite of not transforming its technology towards cloud computing and mobile.
